This book held my interest throughout. The characters were well developed and there was something happening often enough to keep my brain engaged. I believe this author can become well known and popular.I suggest the author hire a reader to find and correct the errors such as his when it should be her or you in place of your etc., and sentences that made no sense .
I am rating this a 3 instead of a 4 because it was disconcerting to have to stop over and over to re-read sections to be sure I had a clear understanding .

If you like the TV series Criminal Minds, you'll probably like this series as well. It was predictable and the pace is slow, but I had the hardest time with all the different names being used for the same people. Pick one and stick with it. One time it's George, another time it's Dr. Dennis, or Georgia, or just SA Dennis. There weren't so many characters that you'd lose track if the author didn't use so many variations of their names. I found the romantic side of the story seemed to drag on forever and the action side involving their cases too disconnected from the story. Overall, a tad disappointing on the delivery of what might have been a good plot and needs a lot of editing.
Waiting is the second book in the PAVAD FBI series by Calle J Brookes.
While Ana and Finn are both one of the best agents in their own fields, they are reunited once again to stop a sniper.
I loved getting to know these characters. Watching them go though dramatic experiences and still turning that into a positive perspective, was refreshing. The fact that their both able to continue to live their lives, work, and find friendship is what makes this such a good read.
Gives me hope. Yes, sometimes bad things happen but there are still people out there willing to help.
Can't wait for the next book.
This is book 2 of a series and I think it would have been easier to know the characters from book 1. Grammatical and spelling errors. Needs more editing.
I have read some books of the series and have enjoyed most of them. In some of these previous installments reference was made to Ana and Fin but no matter how much I searched for their story, I just couldn't seem to find it. Now it makes sense, since this is the spin off to the series but wasn't published until now. What a pity! Especially since this book was an excellent example of how a prequel should be. What I'm trying to say is that this book explained what PAVAD is about and what it stands for. It delivers essential information for the installments to follow and on top of these so important details, it offers the story of Ana and Fin. I think the question of "why only now" is perfectly justified.
Fin and Ana - absolutely great! There was so much background information on both of them that I could relate immediately to them. The different subcharacters that will feature in future (or already published) installments supported the plot perfectly. Generally speaking a very rewarding read.
Just one point of criticism Mal seemed to have deeper feelings for Ana. Or have I misinterpreted? I would have loved if this thread was elaborated a bit further. No matter if Ana and Fin were destined to be together, this would have offered a further subplot to an already very good book.
Loved this book! Especially the different sub-stories contained within...can't wait to read 'Watching' to see how long it takes...and how Georgia and Hell figure out why they 'hate' each other so much. I know it will come as a surprise to nobody else but the two of them...lol...always like to see the bad guys get their comeuppance in the end...with no harm coming to the goog guys and girls...as in this case.
This was the first book written but not the first published. So very pleased to find Ana and Fin' s backstory. The characters in the PAVAD a series are complex and sympathetically real. Their personal lives and personalities sell the various plots of the series. Hope there are more stories to follow because I love this series. Now, I think I'll go back and re-read the first book published..Georgia and Hell' s story.
This was the first of Calle Brookes' that I have read. I can guarantee it will not be the last. I read it in one day, I found the characters warm and the type of friends I would want to have in my life. I recognize how much people are willing to do for others that they love. A story of suspense, friendship, emotions and danger. What more could you ask for in a book?
