It's funny, touching, & warm with people accepting each other as they are & getting together as families to celebrate the small & large events of our life.

I can't wait for Trent to write another book about living in Atlanta or anywhere! He has a great capacity to bring you into the story & make you feel like you are there eating & drinking at the same table.

What's not to like about a book with children, their harried parents, Trent & Kens cats, their remodeling of their Queen Anne house, their Mom's & each others families. Trent Pines has a wonderful voice & I look forward to reading another of his "Andy Griffith Mayberry " books

This is a well-written memoir that makes the reader feel like a part of a very special place to live. It is humorous, witty, descriptive, and overall a lovely account of a place where we would all like to live. The fact that it's all true is simply the icing on a delicious cake. I read most of it in one day as I could not put it down. Once you've spent some time on Altamont Court, you really don't want to leave these delightful people! Don't forget to read all of the recipes at the end as they are spiced (pun intended) with lots more humor.
Life on Altamont Court is a outstanding adventure that Trent and Ken made living in New Jersey on a lovely street called Altamont Court. From buying a new-to-them house and going through several challenging remodels, to having the perfect neighbors and hilarious mothers, Trent made living on Altamont Court a dream to all who read about his endeavors. I often found myself comparing my life and neighborhood to theirs and wondering why I couldn’t be as fortunate as them! Hearing the stories of their backyard parties for neighbors, holidays, and daughters melted my heart and made me laugh so hard that I would cry.

If you’re looking for a insight into the lives of two absolutely incredible people and all of the others that have touched their hearts, this book is the perfect read for you. If you’re wanting a pick-me-up and a book that makes you feel like you’re right there painting with Heather or attending Lindsay’s 16th Greased themed birthday party, this is the book for you.

Pick up a copy, and trust me, you won’t put it down until your done!
Our book club is reading Life on Altamont Court this month and i've already been flooded with requests for other works by this author. Alas and alack.... we can find nothing else. I loved this book and would love to read more by this wonderful man. His writing style is so friendly and warm....the book club wanted to invite him over for coffee and cake! We're keeping an eye out for the next publication(s!!!).
I was fortunate to meet Trent at this month's book club meeting here in Roswell, Ga. - and I'm delighted to say that his presence perfectly matched the guy portrayed with his partner Ken in the book. He was so enjoyable - and graciously rounded out stories about some of the personalities of their Altamont Court neighbors to everyone's delight. When I met him before his talk started and he saw the book that I clutched, he asked if I had brought "Life On Altamont Court" for an autograph or to get a refund! Trent had won my heart! I highly recommend this book - trust me, you'll want to move into this funny, quirky neighborhood. And I'm glad that Trent and Ken have chosen my current, adopted hometown of Atlanta as their new home.
I love this book! The love and joy of Life on Altamont Court had me laughing and crying. The author has a great narrative voice, I finished the book feeling like I had been to his home and neighborhood myself.
Reading about their home renovations cracked me up. I sympathize, having suffered through the dust that gets everywhere and paint that dries looking like the wall has been buttered.
The photos at the back of the book are great, I loved getting to put faces to names and actually see the house. It is such a beautiful home, I wish it was in color!
And the recipes... That 'pot of sauce' is in my future! The only thing missing is a certain recipe for chocolate cake....
Another book I'm glad I grabbed, it has a permanent place on my kindle.

You are initially drawn with the story of two people finding each other and love. I'm always a sucker for that. Since this is a true story, you see how different these two gentlemen are. The book is written with humor that had me laugh out loud.
Through work transfers and being closer to family they decide to buy a "fixer-upper". The book is filled with wonderful neighbors they met and charmed during this time.
I left this book wanting more. Heck, I wanted them to move next to me. I fell in love with them and the people on Altamont Court.
I still wonder about their adventures since moving to Atlanta.
Magnificent! A true gem! What an honor to be invited to Altamont Court! It is truly a special place. This story will have you in stitches one minute, and the next minute, tearing up. How wonderful this is, knowing that there is such love and kindness waiting for you out there. Even with all the s*** we see day in, day out. We can still experience the good that right there in front of us.

I so loved this story! Moving through the pages of the day in the life of Altamont Court showed the true gems of unconditional love, community, family, support, laughter and tears. Growing together through the years, being true to yourself and not holding back on being who you truly are. Given the the space to be free to be fierce! Yup, saw a lot of that. Grab your drink of choice and some tissue. Get ready for some shoutin' and laughin', and hold on tight.

We are all at different points in our lives. But that does not mean we are without true feelings of love and understanding. Sometimes it takes a work such as this book to remind us of this. Bless you heart. )
